The Agricultural Development Department of Palamu district today took important steps and distributed high quality modern equipment to more than 5000 farmers. These equipment include seed drills, soil moisture sensors, mulching equipment and digital panels for crop protection. This initiative has been brought under the 'Increasing Agricultural Efficiency' scheme of the government.

During the programme, farmers were also given training on proper use of equipment, maintenance and crop management. The Agriculture Minister said that this step is expected to increase production fourfold and farmers will get a competitive advantage in the market. Since the award scheme was launched in July last year, there are plans to reach out to more and more farmers in the coming months.
